Undertale Retold: Character designs and notes (1)

Random doodles and sketches (plus design notes) to give you an idea of character appearances in this AU, Undertale Retold.

Here are some major points:
Frisk:

1. Frisk sometimes lets Chara possess them. This can be noticed by Frisk’s eyes opening, and rosy cheeks appearing.

2. This Frisk isn’t 100% Mercy Angel. They can sometimes be a little rude, or even a jerk. Why? Because sometimes, being 100% Pacifist just isn’t fun. Or realistic. 

Sans:

1. Sans isn’t a skeleton, but a monster I call a Dark Imp. (He still has the same height as the original Sans, just a little taller.)

2. Scar on his left eye. (This is a reference to him being a part of Gaster’s experiments).

3. His tail is so long, that he can make an angel hoop over his head whenever he wants. Can look pretty ironic sometimes. 

4. Bandages on left hand to cover the hole in his left hand (Again…a result of being an experiment by Gaster).

5. Instead of bones, Sans uses Hell Fists (Basically, skeletal arms that have claws similar to his. When three of the nails come together, and at the right speed, they form effectively nasty spears. Sometimes, they just come out in the form of fists. Can also hold things in place).

6. He’s still got the Blue Soul attack. What he doesn’t have are Gaster Blasters. Instead, he has Hand Weapons and Gaster Gauntlets.

Hand Weapons are hands that can pop up in any quantity and at any time Sans pleases. These can shoot a variety of different attacks, like beams, beam grids, or balls of energy.

 Gaster Gauntlets are basically bigger and souped up Hand Weapons. This larger hand has more punch in it (But not as much as a Blaster). They are not used as frequently, though.

7. Oh, and Sans smokes, too.

8. And has a knack for listening to different types of music.

9. Still has Karma.

Papyrus:
1. Instead of calling himself the Great Papyrus, he tries testing with different names. His current one is….the Great ShadowClaw.

2. He likes cooking, but prefers spaghetti cooking because of Undyne.

3. He also makes music….which is actually of rather decent quality.

4. Scar on his right eye (Result of being Gaster’s experiment. His scar is hidden by his hair).

5. His scarf can open into WIIIIINGS! (he’s still practicing with them).

6. Hole in his right hand (No need to mention why, at this point…)

7. Instead of bones, he uses spikes. They can either come as small aerial projectiles, or as spears from the ground.

8. Yes, HE is the one who uses Gaster Blasters. He only uses them on two occasions:
In your normal fight against him, he will summon one, but will immediately call it back, seeing it as too dangerous.

If you repeat a Genocide Run, you will face Papyrus in the end. he will give you chances to back out of Genocide again and again, but if you keep refusing, he’ll eventually start using the Blasters. Because you left him no choice.

9. Still uses Blue Magic, like Sans.

10. Sans uses Karma, the ability to use a person’s sins to slowly destroy them. Papyrus uses Fear, the ability to use the weight of a person’s sins to destroy their fighting strength and will. The more you get hit by his attacks, the more your defense and attack drops.(Invincibility still remains though) If you get left with one HP, he’ll give you one last chance to stop fighting. If you refuse, he will kill you. He looks away and closes his eyes as he does this, though.
